Intuition
Our intuition is probably our most sacred tool; utilized best during problematic situations and unfamiliar territory. It knows when you’re in danger, emotionally dysregulated, and gets inquisitive before the logic and thought process infiltrates a narrative. We sometimes refer to it as our “gut” feeling. It’s evident that our intuition serves a valuable purpose which begs the question as to why we continuously ignore it.
Are we afraid of the truth?
Sometimes I am. Sometimes I fear what’s on the other side of a hard decision. I fear the unknown, the unanswered questions. I fear the consequence or ripple effect of choosing to trust a ‘feeling’. What if I’m wrong?
I believe that I have been conditioned to think that I am “too sensitive” and as a result I learned to devalue my emotions. A clear rupture within my connection to intuitive reasoning. I attached a negative connotation to having high emotionality which has taken me years to recalibrate. There is great beauty in having emotional awareness and attunement. It allows me to feel deeply, love with intention, and empathize with humility and understanding. Truly sitting in the quiet after being faced with challenges opens a window of opportunity to get introspective and dissect where the feelings are deriving from. The more practice placed on intuitive notions, the easier it is to follow through with setting personal boundaries sooner. Protecting my peace is of great importance.
Can you relate to this feeling? Only when we are brave enough to take a leap of faith will we truly surrender to trusting the unforeseeable plan that’s already been written in the eyes of God.
Learn to lean into your intuition. Learn to appreciate the importance and value it provides. Learn to see things for what they are. Remember, behaviour is the truth. Words are only meaningful when they are congruent with actions.
Most importantly, learn to listen to your heart; that magical mechanism of soulful love.
